Rock outfit Big Talk - who are fronted by The Killers’ Ronnie Vannucci - are thrilled to announce their second album, Straight In No Kissin’, which will be released on July 24th via Little Oil Records in partnership with PledgeMusic. Big Talk, which is comprised of Ronnie [lead singer and guitarist] alongside Taylor Milne [guitar], John Spiker [bass], John Konesky [guitar], and Brooks Wackerman [drums], was formed shortly before the release of their eponymous debut in 2011. Earning praise from Stereogum, NME, Q Magazine, Consequence of Sound, PasteMagazine.com and more, the band went on to perform on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! in addition to touring worldwide in support of their first LP.

While on the road for The Killers’ 2013 Battle Born World Tour, Ronnie began penning ideas, lyrics, and riffs in his hotel room after shows. “I wanted to make something a little bit more toothy,” he grins. “I wanted to cut live punk rock songs, but I wanted to put something in there for the ladies as well. This way, there’s a nice pop sensibility, but you can tell that there are men playing, not machines. I wanted to give it some fucking strength!” Ronnie started to regroup with his bandmates for a collaborative approach to the new album in early 2014. Soon after that sessions began at The Killers’ Battle Born Studios in Las Vegas before relocating to Vannucci’s own home studio in Sonoma County, CA.

Straight In No Kissin’ twists and turns between devilishly danceable breaks and punked-up attitude. The first single “What Happened To Delisa” gallops on an arpeggiated keyboard and driving beat with a sunny and striking refrain. “It’s about beating yourself up over the one that got away,” Ronnie explains. Record opener “Hold That Line” revs up a muscular riff with a surf echo, while track “What The Night Can Do” details a tryst between “two consenting adults” with a soulful swagger.

Big Talk will play new tracks from the forthcoming project tonight, May 26th at Las Vegas’ The Bunkhouse Saloon, plus the band will be performing at Bottlerock Festival in Napa, CA on May 29th. See all current tour dates listed below.
