New York, NY - May 4th, 2011 - Ars Nova - New York City's premier hub for emerging creative talent - is proud to announce the line-up for its 2nd Annual 54/10 Music Marathon, taking place June 13-25th, 2011. A jam-packed two-week run of live music from bands on the brink, 54/10 is guaranteed to open your eyes - and ears - to the best of the New York City's up-and-coming artists. Advanced tickets will be available for $5 beginning May 11th via Ars Nova's web site, www.arsnovanyc.com. Tickets will also be available during 54/10 for $10 online and $15 at the door. Doors for all shows open at 7:30pm with an 8:00pm start time. Ars Nova is located at 511 West 54th Street and 10th Avenue, New York, NY, 10019. This year, 54/10 is sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery and Buffalo Trace Whiskey , which Ars Nova is proud to serve in addition to its full bar menu.

A benefit concert will kick off the 54/10 Music Marathon on June 13th. More details on this will be announced in the coming weeks.

Showcasing and developing emerging artists is not just a passion for Ars Nova but its mission. Offering music, comedy and theater programming, Ars Nova - a rare gem in the city of New York - goes beyond providing artists with exceptional production values and a state-of-the-art venue. The not-for-profit artist hub also offers a variety of programs and performance series to help cultivate and foster a vibrant community of artists. Committed to nurturing outside-the-box thinking and innovative, genre-bending work, Ars Nova offers artist residencies, retreats, a commissioning program and unique workshop productions, all geared towards providing artists a wide variety of opportunities to bring new work to life from the earliest stages of development to live performances.

After 54/10's successful launch last summer with featured performances from Jay Brannan, The Woes, The Defibulators and Cynthia Hopkins, this year's line-up is once again loaded with sets from some of NYC's most dynamic and inspiring new artists, including the one-woman experimental pop wonder Unicornicopia, indie pop-rockers Murder Mystery and composer/actor/musician Justin Levine, who served as the musical director and a performer in the Broadway rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Also gracing the Ars Nova stage is 7-piece jazz-rock band Great Caesar, orchestral space rockers Miracles of Modern Science and indie piano-pop outfit Thunder and Lightning, the new band from former Harlem Shakes drummer Brent Katz. ARMS - yet another band featuring a former Harlem Shakes member, Todd Goldstein - will bring their lo-fi and evocative songs to 54/10 after a residency at Piano's earlier this year.

By providing a safe environment where risk-taking and collaboration are paramount, Ars Nova strives to cultivate a new generation of artists while offering affordable live entertainment to the young audiences who frequent the venue. With ten nights of eclectic, cutting-edge and affordable music from exciting new bands, 54/10 is a perfect example of Ars Nova's programming at its best. Building on their track record of presenting brilliant new music (Semi Precious Weapons, Langhorne Slim and The Spring Standards are among the bands who have played early career shows at the venue), Ars Nova is thrilled to welcome the performers in this year's 54/10 line-up into their artist community.
