Myspace Launches Video Franchise with Federal Prism - kicking off with TV On The Radio "Million Miles"

Series Kicks Off with Six-Video Collaboration with Federal Prism

Los Angeles, CA, August 27, 2013 - The recently relaunched Myspace is introducing a new program, Music Video Collaborations With Artists We Like, a series that empowers artists by backing them with creative resources. Reflecting Myspace's mission of fostering creativity, discovery, and collaboration, the program brings emerging artists together with noted directors to produce music videos, led creatively by the artists themselves. The videos will premiere exclusively on Myspace and, as part of the program, receive promotion across the new platform through a combination of email, social, and editorial integration.

Launching first in this video series is a six-video collaboration with Federal Prism, the independent label created by David Sitek of TV On The Radio. Sitek, an acclaimed producer has produced for Jane's Addiction, Scarlett Johansson, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beady Eye, and Santigold. The idea behind the program came about after Myspace produced the video "Slow Learner" by Federal Prism artist Telepathe. The success of that collaboration led Myspace to amplify the Music Video Collaborations With Artists We Like program and showcase the works of other Federal Prism artists.  The first video in the collaboration is for the newly released TV On The Radio track "Million Miles."

"This program is an extension of the core principles the new Myspace platform was built on: collaboration, discovery, and empowering creatives of all kinds," said Joseph Patel, vice president of content and creative at Myspace. "Dave's creative vision for Federal Prism is something I feel Myspace shares. On top of that, Federal Prism has a solid slate of releases coming out this year, so it made perfect sense for Myspace to kick this program off with them."

We are getting a lot of resources with very little restriction," said Dave Sitek, Director of Federal Prism.  "His curative powers are not lost on us. It's about the build, the tools, the finess and most importantly, the people."

"Million Miles" was directed by Natalia Leite and TV On The Radio's own Kyp Malone as a visual collaboration between the artists and Myspace's Joseph Patel, who co-executive-produced the video.
