Today, the Brooklyn-based duo The Last

watch.  The video, which was directed by think/feel productions who are
known for creating The Pains of Being Pure At Heart’s “The Body” video, was
shot in NYC and features the band performing in an quintessential dimly lit
Brooklyn venue surrounded by beautiful modern dancers. The video quickly
transitions to shots of the band playing under vibrant lights that makes
for a perfect fit for the indie-pop song's killer sing-a-long hooks.

The pair - writer, singer and producer Eric James and drummer Mason Ingram
- released a three-song teaser early this month to give fans a taste of
their upcoming debut LP, Twistification. The Last Royals have now announced
they will be dropping the anticipated album on January 8th, 2013 via Ooh La
La Records <http://www.oohlalarecordings.com/>. The Deli says the new
record,“...takes listeners on a quick-paced, joyful joyride.” Twistification,
which was produced by Mike Beck, seamlessly rounds out their catchy pop
sound with a mixture of rock and roll elements. James’ original concept for
the album was to create a “soundtrack for the urban lifestyle" - shimmering
pop melodies set against real life experiences in NYC with a narrative flow.

“Musicians hold to this idea that people still listen to albums, even
though they probably don’t anymore,” James says.  “But there’s something
beautiful about that ideal, and it drives me as a songwriter.  I believe
the album has a beginning, middle, and an end.  There’s a natural arc of
tension, chaos and finally release.”

After creating a buzz at this year’s CMJ, which AOL Spinner labeled the
band’s sound and live show as “unique,” the musicians will be playing Rockwood
2 at the Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on November 29th and North
Star Bar in  Philadelphia on December 12th – so don’t miss out!
