Fast-rising Sacramento-based rock duo Middle Class Rut continues to gain momentum following the release of their widely praised debut album, No Name No Color (Bright Antenna/ Independent Label Group).   No Name No Color earned them the title of “2011 Artist to Watch” by MTV, who declared it “an accomplished full-length full of Led Zeppelin-like dirges and socio-politically charged anthems.”   In addition, the album’s first single, “New Low,” which reached #5 at Alternative Rock Radio, brought the band to the attention of USA Today, which profiled MC Rut in its “On the Verge” section. Already a word-of-mouth sensation for their incendiary, aggressive live shows and massive sound, MC Rut will be hitting the road hard this summer, including European dates with Linkin Park starting June 10 in Stockholm, Sweden and three weeks of dates on the Vans Warped Tour starting on July 21 in Camden, NJ (scroll down for complete tour dates).  In addition, the duo has announced that they’ll be releasing their second single, “Busy Bein’ Born,” in mid-May as well as an accompanying video. 

MC Rut has been eagerly embraced by rock fans and the press for their stunning debut, which artfully blurs the line between heavy and melodic with raw, energized rock and roll.  But their success didn’t happen overnight. The duo, Zack Lopez (vocals, guitar) and Sean Stockham (drums), have been playing together since they were teenagers. The pair records every song they write together almost immediately in their rehearsal space, capturing the instantaneous spirit of a track while still in the moment.  They've toured with a range of artists, including Social Distortion, Alice in Chains, Them Crooked Vultures, The Bronx and ...Trail Of Dead.
