Richie Sambora Sings Moving Rendition of National Anthem at 2014 Breeders’ Cup Classic

Richie Sambora sang a moving rendition of our National Anthem this past weekend at the 2014 Breeders’s Cup Classic at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA, evoking a deep sense of patriotism through each soulful, bluesy note. “It was a real honor to sing the National Anthem at the Breeders’ Cup. This year marks the 200th Anniversary of the poem penned by Francis Scott Key in 1814.  It’s amazing that this cultural touchstone started as a poem to this great country of ours. To this very day it still holds an unrivaled significance to the citizens of the United States of America. It was a blast to once again be a part of such an esteemed weekend in horse-racing, and to have the opportunity to add my voice to the long list of those that have sung the anthem, whether in their home during the Civil War or on a grand stage, was truly humbling and an experience I won’t soon forget.”


Richie Sambora will sing the National Anthem at this weekend’s Breeders’ Cup Classic Tune in to NBC Sports Network on November 1st to catch Richie’s return to the esteemed horseracing event, one year after he made history during the 2013 Breeders’ Cup telecast as he performed the Call To The Post on the guitar for the first time ever, rather than the traditional bugle.
