Band Sets Record for the Most # 1 Singles by a Group in Top 40 Chart’s 20-Year History



“Daylight” Also Claims #1 spot on HOT AC Chart




[General PR- Terry Richardson LR]Maroon 5’s latest single “Daylight” has claimed the # 1 spot on both Top 40 and Hot AC radio charts today. In the process, the band has set a record for the most #1’s (six in total) by a group in the Top 40 chart’s 20-year history!



Maroon 5’s highly anticipated fourth album Overexposed has quickly reinforced the group’s status as a powerhouse in popular music with all of the collection’s singles quickly rising to the top of the charts. The album’s debut single “Payphone,” immediately shot straight to #1 on both the Top 40 and Hot AC charts and also set a record for the best sales week ever for a digital song by a group. The band followed up this success with the release of “One More Night,” which held at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine straight weeks.



Maroon 5 recently embarked on the North American leg of their world tour and the outing has quickly become one of the season’s hottest concert tickets. The 30+ city tour has quickly sold out arenas all over the continent and is scheduled to wrap up at Chicago, IL’s Allstate Arena on April 6th.



In addition to his work with the group, Adam Levine will return for the fourth season as a coach on the #1 hit series The Voice, which premieres tonight on NBC.
