Los Angeles, CA--September 4th, 2012--Grammy nominated recording artist Matisyahu made his film debut this past weekend with the August 31st release of Sam Raimi's Lionsgate horror film, "The Possession." The film claimed the #1 spot at the Box Office this Labor Day Weekend grossing over 21 million dollars, opening to enthusiastic reviews and coming in ahead of films like Lawless, The Expendables 2 and The Bourne Legacy.

Starring alongside Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Matisyahu plays the role of Tzadok, a Jewish exorcist struggling to save the fate of a young girl possessed by an evil spirit trapped in a dibbuk box.  The film is based on a true story and its innovative twist on classic thrills greatly contributes to the film's success.
