Festival Mizik Jakmel Welcomed 100,000 Visitors To Haiti For Festival

New York, NY (June 4, 2007) - Haiti's first international music event,
Festival Mizik Jakmel in Jacmel, from May 25-26th 2007 was headlined by
famed reggae artists Stephen and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley with 100,000
people in Haiti sharing the first-time experience. With terrific support
from international Embassy's from all around the world including France,
Canada, Denmark, United Kingdom, Spain, European Union, and the United
States the Festival was a complete success. Other countries in
attendance were Sweden, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Italy, Ireland,
Holland and South Korea.

The ground breaking Festival on Friday, May 25th had over 35,000 people
watching the featured artists on stage including Les Nubians, Reggae
Cowboys, Tifane, Belo, Boukman Eksperyans, Mizik Mizik, Sunpie & the
Louisiana Sunspots, and the Jacmel Music School. The festivities
continued on Saturday, May 26th with over 65,000 attendees being
entertained by Stephen Marley and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley as well as
Tabou Combo, Emeline Michel, MC Red1, RAMI, Giel, Jahnesta, Simbi and
N'Didgenous.

Festival Mizik Jakmel - the brainchild of three Jacmel locals (Patrick
Boucard and Kate Tarratt Cross, co-founders of FOSAJ as well as Jeremie
Sterlin) - donated portions of the festival proceeds to help support
local nonprofit organizations; FOSAJ, Ecole de Musique Dessaix Baptiste
(Jacmel Music School), as well as KROMA a ghetto youth foundation for
street children and PAZAPA. Sponsors for Festival Mizik Jakmel include
VIBE, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Digicel, TEAM FORCE
