2011 POPPED! MUSIC FESTIVAL GIVES PHILADELPHIA TWO NIGHTS OF UNFORGETTABLE LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES

Girl Talks Uses Live Pyrotechnics For The First Time At POPPED! Music Festival

Popped! Music Festival, presented by Alexis Rosenzweig of POPPED! Music Festival Inc., delivered Philadelphia's most energetic two-day music festival this past weekend. The Shins, Foster The People, Cults and more lit up the Liacouras Center's arena stage providing a paramount experience for not only the fans, but the artists themselves.

On day one, POPPED! festival goers rocked out to The Shins' new lineup plus a brand new song, mixed in with recent material and oldie, but goodie tracks. Girl Talk's, AKA Gregg Michael Gillis, put on fiery performance as he used pyrotechnics for the first time ever during his show. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. was energized on stage, decked out in neon, glow-in-the-dark blazers, while The Hold Steady wowed their fans by delivering a high octane set and becoming one of POPPED!'s highlights of the night. Cage The Elephant hyped up the audience towards the end of the night, and frontman Matt Schultz showed off his acrobatic skills when he stage dove into the roaring crowd, not once, but twice.

Day two kicked off with Philly locals R&B singer Nikki Jean and electro duo Sun Airways, who dazzled the audience with their captivating sets, showing why they are two of the city's brightest up-and-coming artists. Soulful singer Zee Avi serenaded the crowd with her acoustic guitar performance, while Rakim took the crowd back in time when he began his set with the 1997 solo single "It's Been A Long Time." Birthday girl Kreayshawn celebrated at POPPED! while the crowd rapped along to her pottymouth hit single "Gucci, Gucci."  Pretty Lights ended day two with a dance party bang, as festival goers boogied down to his contagious techno beats, while viewing a spectacular laser show.

The 2011 POPPED! Music Festival provided an energetic, eclectic lineup, and solidified Philadelphia as a prime destination for live music. Thank you Philadelphia!
