Spiritualized are making an eagerly awaited stop at Manhattan's Terminal 5 TONIGHT in support of their acclaimed seventh studio album, Sweet Heart Sweet Light. Coming four years after release of their previous album Songs In A&E, the new album is Spiritualized at their most vibrant, full voiced and utterly sublime. Sweden's We Are Serenades -featuring Adam Olenius of Shout Out Louds and Markus Krunegard of Laasko- who released their stunning debut album Criminal Heaven via Cherrytree Records/Interscope last month, will be performing at Mercury Lounge on May 9th and the Knitting Factory on May 11th. This Friday, Portland, OR-based troubadour M. Ward will be playing to a *sold out* crowd at Manhattan's Webster Hall. This will be his first performance in New York City since the release of his critically lauded seventh solo album, A Wasteland Companion.  In the three years since M. Ward released his last solo album, Hold Time,  he's toured the globe, released two albums as one half of Grammy-nominated duo She & Him as well as one with the talented group of friends collectively known as Monsters Of Folk. Ward's honey-soaked vocals, deft finger-picking, innate sense of melody and beguiling lyrics have already cemented his reputation as one of America's true musical treasures and A Wasteland Companion features some of the finest songwriting and most striking delivery of his career. IMAGINARY CITIES * Tuesday May 15th @ Mercury Lounge - 11pm
Imaginary Cities are kicking off their tour with mewithoutYou with a special headlining show in NYC at Mercury Lounge. The critically acclaimed indie pop-meets- soul outfit are one of the fastest-rising bands in Canada. Their debut album Temporary Resident just came out on Votiv Music and the praise has been pouring in from the likes of Glamour, BlackBook, Nylon and Paste with InterviewMagazine.com calling the album "mystical, magical, and nomadic...an effortlessly soulful pop project..." and AOL Spinner praising the band for their "beautifully realized songwriting."Principle songwriters Rusty Matyas and Marti Sarbit (whose voice has been heralded as a "Motown-treated Nina Simone") are at the helm of this five-piece band.
