New Yorkers will have the chance to experience internationally renowned tenor Nikolai Baskov’s “Romantic Journey” concert special this Sunday, December 11th at 6:30pm airing on WNET, New York’s flagship PBS station.  The special captures Russia’s most elaborate performance ever recorded for international television in front of an audience of almost 10,000 people.  A magnetic performer who seamlessly leaps between classical and pop music, Nikolai Baskov has been compared to some of the world’s great tenors and has established a remarkable career as one of Russia’s top artists, selling millions of albums worldwide. Featuring energized and charismatic performances of classic pieces such as “Tosca”, “La Boheme”, “Werther”, “Turandot” and favorites such as “Caruso”, “Granada” and “Back to Sorrento,”  Baskov is accompanied by a full orchestra as well as world-renowned soprano, Caballe Montserrat, and her daughter Marti, for several rousing duets. “Romantic Journey” is out now with distribution through Razor & Tie.

Nikolai Baskov will be embarking on his first U.S. tour in February 2012. Tickets for his New York City show at the Beacon Theatre on February 19th go on sale next Saturday, December 17th.
