Live, Cillie sweeps the audience up in her effortless vocals and powerful, mystical aura, all while keeping everyone dancing and swaying along to each song. The flawless song, which brings to life Cillie's knack for lyrical storytelling and her quirky Southern California charm with hip hop roots, autobiographically tells of Cillie's being robbed, home-invasion style in her Hollywood apartment. The track is the first taste of new music from her upcoming Spring 2013 release on Loma Vista Recordings, 'Happy Valley.'
Like the rest of her debut effort, "Brainwash" was crafted within the creative confines of Los Angeles' enchanted denizen, Happy Valley. Collaborations with her musical co-conspirator, Joe Keefe (Family of the Year) and the carefree, spontaneous nature of Happy Valley allowed Cillie to fully explore her talents as a mystical singer songwriter.
CILLIE BARNES (aka Vanessa Long) had quite the unruly upbringing. Growing up the daughter of a convicted bank robber father and art teacher mother in Newport Beach, she moved to Los Angeles at age 17 eventually settling in the famed 'Happy Valley' neighborhood, and never looked back.
