released exclusively for Record Store Day.  The single will feature the track “Hundreds Of Ways,” which is from his upcoming release Upside Down Mountain – Out May 19th (Nonesuch Records). HARRY DEAN STANTON * Harry Dean Stanton: Party Fiction Soundtrack
[cid:9A26621B-3009-48FF-A8B4-BDA4150807A6]The great Harry Dean Stanton is no doubt one of film’s most prolific actors, having starred in over 250 films and projects. But this summer, his unexploited musical talents are spotlighted on an intimate soundtrack recorded to accompany, Harry Dean Stanton: Party Fiction, a documentary film exploring the many facets of the iconic actor.  Directed by Sophie Huber, this critically acclaimed film documents Stanton in his intimate moments and features film clips, as well as Stanton performing his own heartbreaking renditions of country and folk songs. For Record Store Day, Omnivore Records is releasing two tracks, off the soundtrack, on a 7” picture disc: a cover of the 1983 George Jones hit “Tennessee Whiskey” and a new version of “Canción Mixteca,” the Mexican folk song Stanton originally recorded with Ry Cooder for Wim Wenders’ Paris, Texas.

VERUCA SALT * Veruca Salt (Minty Fresh Records)
[Record Store Day 10 inch cover art.jpg]Veruca Salt – original members Nina Gordon (guitar/vocals), Louise Post (guitar/vocals), Steve Lack (bass), and Jim Shapiro (drums) – will release their first new material in fourteen years on Record Store Day. The 10-inch released by the band’s first label, Minty Fresh Records, features their zeitgeist-defining single “Seether” on one side and two new songs – “The Museum of Broken Relationships” and “It’s Holy” – on the other. The new songs are produced by Veruca Salt and Brad Wood, who also produced their seminal debut album, American Thighs, which was released in 1994. In celebration of their epic reunion, all four original members will hit the road together for the first time since 1995 – see below to find a show near you.
