Arctic Monkeys released their globally lauded fifth studio album, AM, on Domino last week. The eagerly anticipated release immediately rocketed to the #1 spot in the UK Album Charts with over 157K copies sold, making it the band's FIFTH consecutive British #1 - a feat only ever achieved once before in British chart history. Helped by the huge radio support of single "Do I Wanna Know?" (PRESS HERE<http://www.arcticmonkeys.com/splash/> to watch the video) AM is heading into the Billboard Top Ten, giving the band their biggest US chart debut since 2007's Favourite Worst Nightmare.

TONIGHT the triumphant Monkeys return to US to kick off the coast-to-coast tour with an intimate show at New York City's Webster Hall. The British four piece are performing in several cities across the country including three sold out shows at The Wiltern in Los Angeles with Mini Mansions as support featuring Michael Shuman from Queens of the Stone Age.  Also supporting the band for selected cities are Drowners, The Walkman, and Deep Vally. Check out a full list of tour dates below.

AM was just announced as a finalist for the prestigious 2013 Mercury Prize which goes to one British album each year. The band were previously the recipients of the award for their Grammy nominated debut Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not in 2006.  The award will be announced in London on October 30th.

Arctic Monkeys will make their first US TV performance of songs from AM on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! on October 9th.
