Tomorrow The Weeknd seizes The Hype Machine’s Tumblr for 24 hours, the first time the platform has allowed an artist takeover since its 2005 inception. Together, The Weeknd Machine break through uncharted territory, giving The Hype Machine a fresh XO make-over, while visually allowing Abel Tesfaye (aka The Weeknd) a forum to indulge and divulge.

This Tumblr takeover allows The Weeknd to visually connect to Tumblr’ers via exclusive photos, songs that inspire him, production hints for his world tour and more. The Weeknd himself surfaced by posting a series of free mixtapes online, with praise on the music alone mounting so fast that by the third one The Weeknd's site crashed due to the large number of downloads. Considering his beginnings it seems only fair to adopt The Hype Machine’s Tumblr for the day, as HM is the platform that aggregates blogs and reveals what the real music world is listening to.
In the spirit of sharing Tesfaye’s musical knowledge and passion, The Hype Machine will have no say in the content of these posts, but asks The Weeknd blog from the heart.
