The Limousines<http://thelimousines.com/> have premiered their new synth-pop heavy single "Love is a Dog from Hell" today on Idolator.com. The indie-dance track is from the Bay Area-based duo's upcoming sophomore record Hush (out independently on June 6th).

On Hush, The Limos' branch out of their familiar ultra-catchy new wave sound, and experiment more with disco, funk, trap and darker trip-hop elements.  Funky and soulful guitar riffs - similar to Daft Punk's earlier work - lace the pair's track "Undercover."  Their song "GRB 09042" is mostly instrumental and is driven by a trip-hop groove. Hush's most emotional tune is "Haunted," which incorporates steel drums and gives it a lush Caribbean zouk flavor. Snippets of each song from Hush can be heard on the band's new album trailer.

The Limos' own multi-instrumentalist Giovanni Giusti took the role of the producer for the album, and the guys called upon Karen Thompson (Calvin Harris, Ellie Glouding) to master it. All songs were co-written by Giusti and lead singer Eric Victorino.

 "Our debut album was fun, and this one has its fun moments too, but that's pretty much all the two have in common. Where Get Sharp (2010) had no songs about love, nothing sexy, hardly any darkness - Hush is all about love, drugs, loss and sex...mostly sex. This is where the Limousines stop masturbating and start fucking. It's our version of growing up," said Victorino.
In support of the energetic and brilliantly orchestrated electronic album, the band will be giving special record release day performance presented by Popscene on June 6th at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco.
