Music’s most exciting new talent, D-Pryde, will release his remarkable debut EP Canal & Richvale, available digitally on July 9th. D-Pryde is a fast-rising 19-year-old rapper/singer/songwriter who has sprung to national attention from his hometown of Toronto, Canada. The Filipino Canadian talent, who is now based in New York City, burst onto the music scene at a young age with a series of wildly popular “freeverses” covers, and originals that showcase his infectious singing and whip-sharp rap skills that have gained him a massive and loyal online following, evidenced by his 65 million YouTube views, hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter and Facebook and a nomination to the XXL Freshman 2013 Class List.  With two successful mixtapes under his belt, a recording/publishing deal with BMG through MarsMG and a North American summer tour which includes a stop at Lollapalooza, D-Pryde is poised for a huge breakout.

D-Pryde didn't land on his personal intersection of pop and hip-hop overnight. At 15-years-old, he saw Eminem's (in)famous music video for "Without Me" and furiously studied it. Soon after, he could spit along flawlessly, adding his own cadence, panache, and even a little singing. Turning to YouTube, the budding wordsmith uploaded a cover of Drake's "Still Fly" a year later, and the views started racking up. That mixture transfixed fans worldwide as the artist religiously updated his YouTube channel every Friday, carving out a fervent following in the process. In the meantime, he issued the acclaimed mixtapes MARS in 2011 and its follow-up Flagship, illuminating his growth behind the mic. Now with his 6-song EP Canal & Richvale, D-Pryde is telling the story of his journey from Richvale Drive in Canada to his studio on Canal Street in NYC. The six-song collection flutters from sunny, soulful hooks into clever, quick rhymes, with D-Pryde’s intuitive, fun and fresh take on life and the coming-of-age process at the forefront.
