Today Myspace unveiled the first episode in a series of exclusive live performances featuring the Manchester, UK four-piece The 1975<https://myspace.com/the1975>.  Shot at The Log Cabin<https://new.myspace.com/thelogcabinnyc> at the Manhattan Center, the band treats Myspace users to the singles "Sex," "Chocolate."  Each video features a mix of candid studio conversation, b-roll and includes a song performance.
Critics have been bemused and thrilled by the Manchester rockers and their amorphous drifts between brooding art rock, crisp electronica, dancefloor R&B, and 80s gloss pop. The band has released four EP's to date, among them was March's Music for Cars from which Rolling Stone lauded their "blissful" music and their "clattering syncopation and angelic vocal harmonies."
The group consists of singer Matty Healy, drummer and co-songwriter George Daniel, guitarist Adam Hann and bassist Ross MacDonald. The Hollywood Reporter recently referred to the band as "the logical successors to the Brit-rock precedent set by other big acts hailing from one of music's most hallowed cities -- The Smiths and Oasis among them." The band's self-titled debut album, co-produced with Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Foals, The Kooks), is set for release September 3, 2013, on Vagrant/Interscope Records.

Hosted by The Log Cabin at Manhattan Center, the videos were produced by Myspace and shot with multiple cameras in HD. Myspace and The 1975<https://myspace.com/the1975> found the studio charming in all its authenticity: a sonic oasis located in Manhattan (also home to the historic opera house The Hammerstein Ballroom).
