Imaginary Cities Announce North American Headlining Summer Tour

[i-RTZxQNj-llr.JPG]Critically acclaimed indie pop-meets-soul outfit Imaginary Cities have announced a North American headlining tour, which will kick off with an early hometown show in Winnipeg, Canada, June 21st before going full speed ahead beginning July 9th. The shows will take the band across Canada and to U.S. cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Minneapolis, Boston and New York before closing with a performance at Lollapalooza August 5th. Imaginary Cities are currently on tour with mewithoutYou.

The band's debut album Temporary Resident (out now on Votiv Music) has received praise from the likes of Glamour, BlackBook, Nylon, Interview, Paste and AOL Spinner. With principle songwriters Marti Sarbit and Rusty Matyas at the helm of the five-piece band, Imaginary Cities has emerged as one of Canada's fastest rising groups. Marti's sultry, soulful voice has been compared to a "Motown-treated Nina Simone" and they have been winning over every audience that sees them play live. Among their many accolades, they won the Western Canadian Music Award for best pop recording and were the recipient of a coveted spot on the long-list for the prestigious 2011 Polaris Prize. Imaginary Cities have opened for The Pixies, Ra Ra Riot, Rural Alberta Advantage and more.
