Celebrated songstress Rachael Sage has premiered new song "Abby Would You Wait" today on Huffington Post - it is now streaming here<http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/28/rachael-sage-haunted-by-you_n_1383623.html>. "Abby" is the first glimpse of Rachael's 10th studio album, Haunted By You - the stunning new collection of guitar and piano-driven songs about the pain and pleasure of passion, love and soul mates. The album is set for release on May 22nd via MPress Records, the label that Rachael owns and operates, and features guest vocalists Dar Williams, Katie Costello and actor/director Joshua Leonard (Blair Witch Project, Humpday).
One of independent music's most active touring artists, Rachael has made a name for herself with her theatrical show , signature flair and colorful stage banter. She is currently on tour, playing special pre-release shows and has just announced more headlining dates including a not-to-be-missed album release show at Joe's Pub in New York City on May 19th. Additionally, Rachael will perform as a special guest at Lincoln Center in New York City on May 5th as part of the free "Meet The Artist" series, a one-hour interactive performance and Q&A held on the first Saturday of each month at 11am ET. Rachael will also make an appearance at Lincoln Center on May 10th during Target® Free Thursdays, held every Thursday at 8:30pm ET and offering free performances from national and international touring artists as well as local artists from the New York metropolitan area. Grammy-nominated cellist Dave Eggar is curating both the May 5th and May 10th shows. The full list of tour dates is below.
Although music is Rachael's first love, she also dabbles in the world of visual art and will present her new collection of all-new paintings and mixed-media pieces at Think Coffee in NYC's Lower East Side from May 6th to June 3rd.
Rachael has had an illustrious career, respected and praised by the likes of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Rolling Stone and Billboard. She has shared the stage with Ani DiFranco, Sarah McLachlan, and Shawn Colvin and has garnered many accolades including the Grand Prize in The John Lennon Songwriting Contest as well as several OUTmusic and Independent Music Awards. Her songs have appeared on MTV, HBO and the "Fame" soundtrack. As a woman who wears many hats, this year has already brought Rachael great success as a label owner. Her successful independent label MPress Records recently received its first GRAMMY nod with Seth Glier's "The Next Right Thing" as well as its first Billboard charting record with Melissa Ferrick's "Still Right Here".
