If you haven't made your way up to Warby Parker Citizens' Circus at the French Legation in Austin yet this week NOW IS THE TIME TO GO! Today is the last day of this FREE all-ages event in the pretty grounds of the oldest wooden structure in Austin. It's like absolutely nothing else happening at SXSW! The Citizens Band - the renowned New York CIty musical troupe comprising of dozens of talented musicians, singers and aerial ballerinas  - is performing at 7.30 this evening! Catch their sexy pro-democracy performance (you may recognize such luminaries as Karen Elson, Zoe Kravitz, Nina Persson, Ian Buchanan and Rain Phoenix in their ranks) before they leave town. Catch it while you can!

The Warby Parker Citizen's Circus

Excited to celebrate our country’s democracy in such a pivotal year, Warby Parker presents the Citizen’s Circus, a three-day extravaganza at the French Legation Museum during the crossover between interactive, film and music at SXSW. Each night, visitors can enjoy theatrical and musical mischief by The Citizens Band on the main stage. During the day, spectators can explore the campus grounds, shop the Warby Parker glasses and sunglass yurt and enjoy a mini music festival curated by legendary music supervisor Randall Poster. Citizens can sustain themselves between live acts with locavore snacks, libations & inspiration from the following artists, farmers and fellow do-gooders:

-High Class Hillbilly

-Rock the Vote

-Scene and Herd

We want to celebrate our participatory democracy by partnering with Rock the Vote and Citizens Band to create a fun, but meaningful experience in Austin during this election year. Like Rock the Vote and Citizens Band, we believe in the intersection of active citizenship and popular culture, especially music and fashion.


In these challenging times, we need active citizenship more than ever before. We want to encourage people to get involved and vote in this year’s election regardless of which candidate they support. We hope that as many people as possible make their voice heard.
