KASABIAN KICK OFF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR TODAY

Dates Mark the Band's First Tour of the US & Canada in Five Years!

Set to Perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on April 18th

[Comp2s- Dean Chalkey LR.jpg]UK rock sensation Kasabian will kick off their first North American tour in 5 years TODAY Monday, March 12th in Dallas, TX. The nearly 20-city tour is happening in conjunction with the band's latest studio album Velociraptor! The tour will include shows both in the US and Canada. The band recently announced SXSW and Coachella dates along with additional California shows. Tickets for Kasabian's North American spring tour are on sale now (please see full routing below).

In addition to their North American tour, Kasabian is set to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on April 18th. The band also recently won the title of Band of the Year at the NME Awards.

Kasabian's fourth studio album Velociraptor! was released this past September and impressively debuted at #1 in the UK, while simultaneously skyrocketing to the top of charts in countries around the world. Chock full of amplified vocals and stadium sized riffs, the album has received critical praise with Q Magazine calling the release "their best album to date," and Mojo  who proclaimed "[Kasabian] have just made a career-best record that's completely devoid of filler...it's the great record Kasabian have been threatening to make for some time."

Since the debut of their new album, Kasabian have been has been on a world tour in support of Velociraptor!. The band are currently in the midst of a 14-city UK arena outing that will wrap up with two shows at London's O2 on December 14th and 15th. Before arriving in the US this spring, Kasabian will also headline arena dates throughout Europe, Japan, Asia and Australia.

Formed in 1999 in Leicestershire, England, Kasabian consists of Sergio Pizzorno (guitar), Tom Meighan (vocals), Chris Edwards (bassist) and Ian Matthews (drummer.) Having released three studio albums, Kasabian (2004), Empire (2006) and West Ryder Lunatic Asylum (2009), Kasabian has become one of Britain's biggest rock bands, selling out stadiums and festival main stages across European. The band has won at the Q Awards, taking home Best Live Band and Best Album, The NME Awards, winning Best Live Band and Best Album and the MOJO Awards winning song of the year for 'Fire' in 2010.
