Charlet Duboc crashes Full-Figured Fashion Week in New York, where the women throw aside their stretchy moo-moo dresses designed to hide their lady lumps and don the brightest, tightest, and best in haute couture XXXL and extra, extra fabulous!
- VICE announces the full-figured episode of a new fashion series, Fashion Week Internationale, featuring the tremendously glamorous Full-Figured Fashion Week in New York. In this episode, VICE's Charlet Duboc hits up New York's Full-Figured Fashion Week where bigger is definitely better. She gets down and dirty with the full-sized, vivacious women of the annual fashion eXXtravaganza, who love nothing more than to show their skin, and strut every single inch of their stuff down the catwalk in the sexiest and tightest of ensembles. The exuberant ladies embrace their size, talking about being proud of their curves without the typical "fat-girl movement" jargon, and bask in their extra-large, sparkling glory, as they booze and cruise and shake their tail feathers in celebration of Full-Figured Fashion Week. Long gone are the days where the fuller figured woman is restricted to nylon stretch-pants from the back of Walmart.
Fashion Week Internationale  is devoted to the world of fashion that exists outside the superlative catwalks of New York, London, Paris, and Milan, revealing a whole new world of fashion, and capturing a truly unique take on the bitchiest industry around. In each episode, Fashion Week Internationale documents the fashion weeks that take place in cities and countries that normally make international news with their political and economic woes, to the most crackpot fashion week themes and the stimulating characters behind them.
As exclaimed by series host Charlet Duboc, "Since eve bit the apple, everyone has to get dressed in the morning, no matter where you're from. Each episode is a thirty minute foray into things often denied to us in the news. The fashion weeks we cover act as a vehicle for a broader story about these communities, painting an unseen picture of what's really happening around the world. The women of Full-Figured Fashion Week believe it's high time the industry adapts to accommodate them. They want to pave the way for the next generation of larger girls to have an easier ride than they did."

Charlet  travels to Islamabad for Pakistan's second ever fashion week. Despite the constant threat of extremist violence, Charlet discovers a thriving progressive fashion scene led by the Pakistan's irrepressible style guru, Tariq Amin. Additionally, we go out on the town with Pakistan's only rapper, who reveals that for him, three porn starts would make him happier than the Koran's promise of 72 virgins.

Charlet is flown to Medellin, Columbia, the plastic surgery capital, and soon-to-be fashion capital of South America to meet the style mavens behind the cosmetically enhanced, curvy girls of the fashion world.. Charlet is front row to witness two opposing ideas of Colombian fashion. First, we hit Colombiamoda, a fashion event based on the more European aesthetic; then, we cross town for Colombia Para el Mondo, which caters to the more traditional, albeit cosmetically enhanced, curvy girls in Colombia. We also meet Pablo Escobar's brother to get the lowdown on 'narco-beauty' and sit through bum implant surgery.





ABOUT CHARLET DUBOC
Born and raised in the English countryside and seemingly doomed to a fate of hanging out on the Kings Road in a pashmina, Charlet Duboc was the black sheep of the convent school. She couldn't wait to escape her strict, conservative upbringing (Charlet's mother demanded that her clothes always color- match, from socks to hair bobble - she now can't bear anything to match).

As a solitary pre-pubescent child with an infatuation with MTV, she dreamed of dressing like Mase (yeah we know, weird). To this day, Charlet dons non-obvious 90s couture she blames on hours of indoctrinating herself with music videos at her first job at EMI. She has trashy yet expensive taste that ranges from Mugler, Gaultier, Lacroix, Moschino, Versace, Naf Naf, Coogi, Guess? and Chipie and claims that if she had more time and a disposable income, she'd look like her ideal: a cross between the girls of the "Macarena" video, Rose McGowan in "The Doom Generation," and Lil' Kim in her heyday.

Since escaping to the city, Charlet has dabbled in a number of different careers - from chauffeur of bands, to actor, and model. She attended Kings College London for her BA, and began DJ-ing Dancehall and Hip- Hop before she finally started freelance writing for VICE. She quickly moved her way up as the word assistant in VICE's Fashion Department, but always dreamed of doing documentary.

One day, the idea for Fashion Week Internationale  popped into her head, and after pitching it to VICE's Global Editor, Andy Capper, she soon found herself on a plane to Islamabad with fellow series co-creator and Director Will Fairman.
