Hello,
Press Here artists Dolorean, Klaxons and White Lies all have amazing records
out today! Let us know if you¹d like to check any of these out.
Dolorean * The Unfazed (Partisan Records) *
Dolorean, aka Portland, OR songwriter Al James and his band of stalwarts,
return after a four-year absence with new studio album, The Unfazed, their
first for Brooklyn indie Partisan Records. Engineered by Rob Oberdorfer and
mixed by Tony Lash (The Dandy Warhols, Death Cab For Cutie, Elliott Smith),
The Unfazed introduces us to a stronger, more mature James, who delivers a
timeless collection of songs where the protagonists confront despair with
acceptance and disappointment without resignation. Dolorean¹s arrangements
- acoustic guitars embellished with tasteful keyboard parts (piano and
Hammond organ), occasional strings and pedal steel - evoke classic 70s folk
rock, with James¹ haunting, often desolate parables enveloping listeners in
a seductive world of warm melancholy. The band has announced a March 2011
tour with Holy Sons and Castanets, including SxSW dates. Listen to the track

What The Press Are Saying!
³Dolorean¹s desolate narratives have made them one of the most compelling
Americana acts of recent times.² Under the Radar
³Brutally potent stuff² NPR Song of the Day (³Country Clutter²)
³The Unfazed expresses how wide-open vistas can be spoiled by ³one burr
under the saddle,² and it does so through music that blends the dreamy
psychedelia of Pink Floyd with the yearning balladry of Gene Clark. ³ The
Onion AV Club (B+)
³A breakup album done right. What could have been an easy-listening folk
record about breakin¹ up & movin¹ on goes beyond just sadness.² Venus

KLAXONS * Surfing The Void (tinyOGRE) *
It¹s been 3 years since Klaxons burst onto the music scene, injecting a
dazzling and much needed moment of rave hedonism into the midst of indie
tedium with the truly original and enormously influential Mercury
award-winning album Myths of the Near Future. The band is back with the
eagerly awaited follow up, Surfing the Void hitting TODAY via tinyOGRE. This
ten track offering was produced in LA by rock legend Ross Robinson
(Sepultura, Slipknot, At the Drive In, The Cure) and written over the course
of a three year long musical journey, it¹s a brilliantly diverse and
engaging alternative rock record. (cara at pressherepublicity.com //

What The Press Are Saying!
³one of the best pop albums of the year but still one of the most
individual and ambitious.² NME
³Even at low volume, it sounds astonishingly loud and euphoric a self
consciously epic record of rampant ambition and deliberately arcane
weirdness.² Nylon
³villainous guitar rambling, dread-in-the-gut bass lines, and stentorian
falsetto shrieks. But even Klaxons¹ most ominously rambunctious tracks grind
out plenty of bug-eyed dream pop chants.² Spin
³it might be time to sit up and pay Klaxons some respect.² BBC
White Lies * RITUAL (Geffen/Fiction) *
London¹s White Lies incredible sophomore release Ritual is set to hit TODAY
via Geffen/Fiction to an exciting whirlwind of intimate shows stateside, a
taping for Fuel TV¹s The Daily Habit and a January 25th performance on The
Tonight Show With Jay Leno!
While the band made a major splash with their dark and enigmatic 2009 debut,
To Lose My Life, it is new album Ritual which has taken White Lies into the
stratosphere. Ritual, produced by famed studio wizard Alan Moulder, is the
perfect epic follow up to White Lies' impressive debut. Taking us on a sonic
journey through dancefloor beats meets raging guitars and everything in
between, the album is fused together perfectly, and all at an incredibly
melodic, breakneck speed. Ritual teems with dark distorted anthems for the
modern age. British music critics have hailed White Lies as successors to
the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, Depeche Mode, The
Psychedelic Furs and Magazine, calling lyricist Charles Cave a ³ classic
doom-rock dreamweaver; Nick Cave meeting Edgar Allen Poe.²
