Microsoft Launches New Online Documentary Series Surface Pro: Behind the Scenes

Three-Part Series Features Intimate Look at Creative Inspirations Behind Work of Influential Artists

Series Highlights New York City Filmmaker, Architect and Animator Integrating the Microsoft Surface Tablet to Execute Their Visions and Projects


New York, NY (September 9, 2013) - Today Microsoft announces the launch of a new documentary series entitled Surface Pro: Behind the Scene<http://www.surface.com/>.  The three-part series features "behind the scenes" looks at the work of three influential artists, and how they execute their creative visions and projects.

The first episode, which premieres today on Film School Rejects profiles filmmaker Chayse Irving - PRESS HERE<http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/features/meet-filmmaker-chayse-irving-cinema-tech-innovator.php> to WATCH. Chayse's recent films include the documentary "Spirit in the Stone"<http://spiritsinthestone.com/> and "Blacktino", a feature film that premiered at the SXSW Film Festival. The episode follows Chayse to various spots in New York City, where he talks about using his Surface Pro to capture content for both creative and commercial projects.

The second episode will premiere on September 16th and features New York-based animator Christy Karacas, the creator of the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim Superjail! Series. The episode follows Christy around his home borough of Brooklyn as he researches, creates storyboards and animates his characters all with his tablet.

The third and final episode will premiere September 23 on and profile architect Marc Kushner.  Marc is the co-founder of New York-based design firm Hollwich Kushner and CEO of Achitizer.com, the first architecture-focused online crowd-sourced database.  The episode highlights Marc's notable work around New York City and Fire Island, connecting architects online, and his installation "Wendy" at MoMA PS1.
