San Francisco, CA (March 6, 2012) - The Creators Project, Intel and VICE’s global arts and technology initiative dedicated to supporting creativity, will kick off 2012 with its first-ever event in San Francisco, featuring a
marquee lineup of live performances, original Studio works, screenings and workshops by groundbreaking artists, musicians, designers and filmmakers.

After hosting cultural festivals in Beijing, Sao Paulo, New York, Paris, Lyon and Seoul in 2011, The Creators Project now arrives in the world’s cradle of technology and innovation. To launch its third year, the award-winning
initiative will transform the historic Fort Mason site on March 17th and March 18th into a gargantuan interactive and visual two-day extravaganza showcasing the cross-section between art and technology for tens of thousands of guests.

The Creators Project today unveiled its line-up and RSVP information for guests to attend the event: http://thecreatorsproject.com/rsvp/sf

Performances will feature the Yeah Yeah Yeahs,

United Visual Artists + Scanner's "Origin" - the striking 40-foot by 40-foot audiovisual cubic sculpture originated on the Coachella Music Festival in 2011, and was most recently featured underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at the 2011 event in New
York. Additionally, Chris Milk unveils his new, interactive installation, “Our 3 Stages of Flight,” that will span majestically over three walls of a Fort Mason establishment.
Barney Clay and Mick Rock’s reinvention of David Bowie performing “Life On Mars” will also be featured at the event. Finally, sprawling pieces from
SoSoLimited, Quayola, Superuber, Casey Reas, Zigelbaum +
Coelho, Scanner, Minha Yang, Social Print Studio + Intel Labs, and
Mira Calix will also grace Fort Mason's grounds.

Additionally, as a precursor to the event, The Creators Project held a local
San Francisco Art Hack Weekend March 2-4, focused on building interactive art experiences on the web
using WebGL and HTML5. Two of the local Bay Area coders were awarded development stipends at the end of the weekend, and will feature their works at the San Francisco event.

Finally, the San Francisco 2012 Creators Project will present interactive creative workshops, panel discussions, and film screenings from the best in art, digital media, film, and technology.

The Creators Project launched in 2010 to empower emerging and leading artists who are pushing the boundaries of creative expression through technology. In 2011 it unveiled The Studio, a global studio that produces and distributes
works from artists representing a cross-section of creative disciplines.
