<b><i>Cabaret</i> </b>weaves the magnetic energy of Moon Taxi’s live show with musical ingenuity and thoughtful lyrics. A follow-up to their live album,
<b><i>Live Ride</i></b>, <b><i>Cabaret</i></b> illustrates the challenges of defining yourself in a world that seems to be suffering from its own identity loss. After spending the better part of 2009 and 2010 on the open road, playing shows across the country
to enthusiastic crowds and increasingly packed houses as well as festivals such as
<b>Mountain Jam, Wakarusa, Summer Camp</b> and <b>Hangout Festival</b>, Moon Taxi retreated to their hometown Nashville to hone the songs that they had created on the road. With inspiration ranging from surrealist art, to Tom Robbins books, to encounters while
touring the country, <b><i>Cabaret</i></b> is a fully evolved album with depth and intensity that is unexpected from a band that also has a knack for getting everyone in a room to dance. “It’s about juxtaposition—putting together seemingly opposite ideas and
finding a strange harmony, says vocalist and guitarist <b>Trevor Terndrup</b>. “I guess we are trying to say that things are not so black and white, or good or evil, but relative to your own perspective.” The band has already formed a loyal fan base across
the Southeast, selling out clubs and creating a strong grassroots following through their own headlining shows as well as opening for artists such as Umphrey’s McGee, Matisyahu and Gov’t Mule. Keyboardist
<b>Wes Bailey</b> says, “It’s an incredible feeling to see people who we’ve never met before in a town we’ve never played before, dancing and singing our lyrics at the top of their lungs.”<o:p></o:p></p>

<b>Matisyahu</b> lends guest vocals to “<b>Square Circles,”</b> which the band recorded on board the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus at this year’s Hangout Festival.
<b>“Radio”</b> creates its own brand of southern tinged pop, while closing track <b>
