Brooklyn-based neo-psych rock trio Sunflower Bean will release a new single entitled "I Hear Voices" via Fat Possum on July 24th. The single - which follows the self-release of the band's singular debut EP Show Me Your Seven Secrets earlier this year - features "I Hear Voices" and b-side "The Stalker." It will be available as a limited 7" and for download. Sunflower Bean have been a word of mouth phenomenon over the last year, following a great run at SXSW earlier this year and most recently a successful UK debut at The Great Escape, where they were named NME's best band of the festival. The band has spent the last year bringing their raw, high-energy performances to 50+ sold-out venues across NYC, closing Saint Laurent fashion shows and events in Paris and Los Angeles, and opening for the likes of Best Coast, DIIV, Cherry Glazerr, Wolf Alice and more. Drawing from a wealth of rugged lo-fi sounds, they have adapted the heroic charisma of VU psychedelia and Black Sabbath's dark rock to fit their own generation's drowsy indie ethos.
