THE 9th ANNUAL 'ROOTS JAM SESSION'



Talent from this week has already included a rich and diverse roster including everyone from: Ed Sheeran, Miguel, K Michelle, Laticia, YG, Cee-Lo, Rae Sremmurd, Nico and Vinz

The Legendary Roots Crew, have returned for the 9th annual ROOTS JAM SESSION<http://rootsjamsession.com> this week at the Hotel Café. The event, which has become a celebrated tradition during awards season, has already included talent ranging from: Ed Sheeran, Miguel, K Michelle, Laticia, YG, Cee-Lo, and Nico & Vinz. The series of jams culminates tonight - the line-up including: Common, LeCrae, Lolawolf, Kool N The Gang, and Liv Warfield. Different from past jams, this year, the event has been much more intimate, taking place at the Hotel Café which accommodates an audience of slightly larger than 100 people.



By day, the music group has been taping the Tonight Show and by night, has been delivering legendary mash-ups and groundbreaking music.



"The idea of shooting the Tonight Show all day, then playing all night at the jam sessions was daunting to say the least. However, these shows have been incredible, unparalleled energy. So far, it's been an amazing week" said the Grammy-Award winning groups' co-founder turned twitter celeb, Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson.



Talent for the Jam this week has included: Will.i.am, Sevyn Streeter, Bilal, Goapole, Miguel, Marsha Ambrosius, and Rae Sremmurd. Last night, K Michelle, Laetitia Sandler of Stereolab, TI, Ed Sheeran, YG, Cee-Lo, Jeremy Ellis and Nico & Vinz entertained guests with epic performances.



Said The Roots Manager Shawn Gee, of Maverick, "It's been an amazing week so far. Being able to see the young guys from Rae Sremmurd literally get bit by the live music bug on stage was great. I saw the same thing 15 years ago during rehearsals for MTV Unplugged, when The Roots first played live w/ Jay Z, it's a beautiful thing. Also the juxtaposition of seeing Ed Sheeran on stage, followed by YG or seeing Laetitia from Stereolab perform on the same stage as K Michelle and TI. I can¹t wait for tonight."

THE ROOTS JAM SESSION is the alternative to all of the other "stuffy" industry events that overwhelm the Hollywood scene during award season. This highly anticipated experience, is where artists and executives get a chance to entertain be entertained, and get educated on important issues affecting our world. The stage show can be described as a who's who in music performing in one continuous jam with the energy of the musical backing of The Roots!
