(March 17, 2014 - New York, NY) - Blondie continued their 40th Anniversary Year with a SXSW takeover that included a series of badass live performances, a special industry panel and of course a few surprises thrown in.  The band unveiled brand new songs and served up their iconic hits as crowds reached a fever pitch during the band's sets at Perez Hilton's 7th Annual "One Night In Austin" at Austin Music Hall, Rachael Ray's Feedback Party at Stubb's, and the Smithsonian Channel Presents Blondie Powered By Yahoo, which was livestreamed from Brazos Hall. The Smithsonian Channel will premiere BLONDIE'S NEW YORK on March 21st at 10pm ET/PT, a one-hour documentary narrated by Kim Cattrall that explores the rise of the legendary band.

Over at the Austin Convention Center, Debbie Harry, Chris Stein and Clem Burke took part in a rare panel together which sparked a fascinating discussion on the state of the music industry, U.S. festival culture and the implications of the band's fearless genre-bending, the effects of which are still being felt in contemporary music.

Members of Blondie popped up in other unexpected places during the festival as well, with Debbie Harry jumping on stage to perform Blondie song "Dreaming" with the Dum Dum Girls. Elsewhere at the Paramount Theater, Clem Burke joined the house band for a massive Lou Reed tribute organized by Austin's own Alejandro Escovedo and the Bongos' Richard Barone.
Later this Spring, Blondie will release a special 40th Anniversary double-disc package. For the last four decades, Blondie has become and still remains a true national treasure; one whose influence both shaped and continues to inform the worlds of music, fashion and art. From an irreverent Lower East Side punk outfit to bona fide international ambassadors of New York cool, Blondie will forever be synonymous with that punk spirit that lives somewhere in all of us. Their chart-topping success, fearless spirit and rare longevity led to an induction into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and more than 40 million albums sold worldwide to date.
