The award, presented by General Osman of Toys for Tots, recognizes Richie for his outstanding service to the community at large and for his ongoing support of the Parade, known as the largest Christmas celebration in America. Additionally, Richie’sFront & Center special is currently airing throughout Decemberon Public Television, honoring his friend and mentor Les Paul, filmed at The Iridium in NYC. And in case you missed it, here is Richie’s moving rendition of the John Lennon classic “Happy Xmas/War Is Over,” which he originally prepared to perform at the Hollywood Christmas Parade alongside Orianthi and a children’s choir from the School of Rock LA. Even though rain prevented the performance from happening, Richie was moved by how beautiful the children sounded in rehearsal and knew this performance would be special.
