LOS ANGELES, (November 4, 2013) - American rock icon Richie Sambora made history during the 2013 Breeders' Cup telecast on Saturday, November 2nd, performing the Call To The Post on the guitar for the first time ever, rather than the traditional bugle. Sambora also participated in the inaugural Songs in the Saddle: The Infield Music Fest, which featured a notable line-up of Grammy, American Music Award and Academy of Country Music Award winning R&B, bluegrass, indie rock and Latin musicians including Kristin Chenoweth, Toni Braxton, Macy Gray, Joan Osborne, Jakob Dylan, Giselle Fernandez, Nikki Lane, Jenny & The Mexicats, American Authors, Dame, Jenny O and Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea. The Breeders' Cup took place at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA and was broadcast on NBC and NBC Sports Network.

The Breeders' Cup administers the Breeders' Cup World Championships, Thoroughbred racing's year-end Championships.  The Breeders' Cup also administers the Breeders' Cup Challenge qualifying series, which provides automatic starting positions into the Championships races.
