[Honor By August - Album Cover]Honor By August will release their album Monuments To Progress (Noble Steed Music) on April 23. The album was recorded at Cue Recording in Virginia and produced by Jim Ebert (Butch Walker, Meredith Brooks).  On this record the band embraced a richer sonic tapestry than their previous releases, opting to create a fuller sound with a variety textures within the music.



Although the band has already released an EP and two albums, Monuments To Progress is the first full record that all four members worked on from start to finish, with each member contributing songs and lyrical ideas. The tracks "We Were Young," "Believe," and "Somebody Real" hint at a more mature sound with a heavier subject matter compared to previously released material. The band describes the lead single, "Last Chance," as a "longer and more complex journey than any other song of ours." Honor By August is Michael Pearsall (lead vocals, guitar), Evan Field (guitar, piano, vocals), Brian Shanley (drums, percussion), and Chris Rafetto (bass, piano, vocals). The band has shared the stage with several notable artists including Imagine Dragons, Switchfoot, and Third Eye Blind. Honor By August opened for Bon Jovi after winning Bon Jovi/XM Radio "Have a Nice Gig" Contest and were awarded first place in Billboard's "World Song Contest" for a track from an early live recording. In 2006, the band released their first full length album Drowning Out The Television followed by Found in 2009 and the EP On Our Own in 2010.
