Lauded Italian jazz guitar virtuoso and music producer/songwriter Fabrizio Sotti will release his stunning new album Right Now on May 14, 2013, via Sotti Entertainment, Inc. Mixing his jazz and pop sensibilities for the first time as a recording artist, Fabrizio has assembled an exciting and unexpected list of guests on his latest effort, which features  original songs and timeless covers of popular tunes. Joining Fabrizio is R&B powerhouse Melanie Fiona, reggae superstar Shaggy, hip-hop icons Ice T and M-1 of Dead Prez, alt-soul singer Res, European pop legend Zucchero, acclaimed composer/multi-instrumentalist/producer Mino Cinélu, Chilean jazz vocalist Claudia Acuña, soul singer Alegbra Blessett and rising Swedish star Isabella Lundgren. Songs that have both personally and musically inspired Fabrizio have been re-worked into mesmerizing jazz-pop gems, including Pink Floyd's "The Wall," Jimi Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary," Bob Marley's "Waitin' In Vain," U2's "One" and Cesária Évora's "Fidjo Maguado." The album's cohesive sound stems from the band made up of Fabrizio on electric, acoustic, classical and nylon string guitars, Tony Grey on bass and Mino Cinélu on drums/percussion.

Fabrizio will play special album release shows at Blue Note in New York City on May 14th and May 15th and will be joined by Res, M-1 of Dead Prez, Mino Cinélu, Tony Grey, Claudia Acuña and Isabella Lundgren.

Sparked by the idea of "right now," Fabrizio's ever-bubbling creativity led him to begin working on an album with voices, instrumentation and song choices that would eloquently evoke the joy of contentedness and living in the moment. He invited some of his favorite contemporary artists to join on his newly written songs and interpret popular songs that hold deep meaning for him. For the first time in his own music, Fabrizio fused this pop-leaning element with his acclaimed jazz guitar playing. It became at once a nod to his personal journey and a step forward in his artistic adventures.  By drawing from all corners of his personal memories and his more than two-decade genre-spanning career as a jazz guitarist and producer for everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Cassandra Wilson to Q-Tip to K'Naan, Fabrizio's creative expression has blossomed.  The result is a rich and authentic album that welcomes music fans of all genres to come along for the ride.

While stationed in Aviano, Italy during his service in the Italian Air Force in the mid-90s, Fabrizio remembers hearing Shaggy's "Mr. Boombastic" amidst the sadness of the Yougoslav War. Recalling this feeling of comfort, Fabrizio invited Shaggy to guest on "Waitin' in Vain," knowing he could bring a humanity to Bob Marley's song along with Res' gorgeous vocals. Growing up in Italy with an admiration for Ferraris, Fabrizio eventually developed a love for driving and racing the Italian cars. Original song "Prancing Horse," dedicated to the legendary Enzo Ferrari, conveys the adrenaline, passion and sophistication associated with these cars and marks the first time Fabrizio has written in a flamenco style. "Someone Else's Tears" (a Zucchero song) is the European music icon's first collaboration with a jazz musician since working with Miles Davis and the English lyrics for this song were penned by Bono. "The Wall" captured Fabrizio's childhood feelings as an outcast when school became difficult for him as his love of music took over. When the Berlin Wall fell and Germany became united, the song assumed a deeper meaning for him. Ice T and M-1 tap into those social and emotional elements in the song.

Right Now is Fabrizio's first release since Another Country, his highly praised 2012 collaboration with Grammy-winning jazz artist Cassandra Wilson, and is his first solo album since 2010's Inner Dance.
