NEW YORK, NY, January 14, 2013-COHEED AND CAMBRIA fans have a lot to get excited about! The band will debut a live performance of the upcoming single, "Dark Side Of Me," off volume two of their double album, The Afterman: Descension, which drops February 5, 2013 via Everything Evil/Hundred Handed Inc. with a January 21 performance on Conan! 'Descension' follows the successful release of volume one, The Afterman: Ascension, which debuted at #5 with it's October 9, 2012 release.
"'Dark Side of Me' is a song about the duality of human nature," said the band's front-man Claudio Sanchez. "It's natural to try to hide the more sinister facets of ourselves from the people we care about, but to ever truly share a life with another person, that dark side needs to make its way out into the open."
The band's Conan TV performance will kick off excitement for the much anticipated headlining U.S. tour, starting in Washington D.C. on February 4th and ending at landmark venue, Radio City Music Hall on March 16 in New York City.(Tour dates below).
Last Week, Michael Einziger, guitarist of Incubus, posted a special 'Alt Version' of "Dark Side of Me" that he and Sanchez worked on together and can be heard on his Soundcloud account. About The Afterman:  The first volume from the double-album (Ascension) charts the sci-fi journey of Sirius Amory into the stars of the alternate universe known well by Coheed fans as "Heaven's Fence." Upon entering "the Keywork," the blue gaseous energy force that powers these worlds, Amory stumbles upon the Afterlife.
