PJ Morton Embarks On A Spring 2012 Tour

Morton's lead track from the EP is a funky, infectious pop gem called "Heavy," which features Maroon 5's lead singer, and NBC's The Voice coach Adam Levine. In support of the new EP, Morton will take his talents on the road for an 18-date Spring 2012 tour, that kicks-off on April 4th in Houston, TX, and will make its way through New Orleans, LA, Nashville, TN, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, and more!  All tour dates listed below.
Morton comments on signing with Young Money saying, "I was excited from the start about the opportunity with Young Money, because they are about the only label that is about creativity and individuality.  They have a star roster, but every act is creatively unique.  They are the only ones doing it like labels did it back in the old days when you had Marvin Gaye doing something worlds apart from Stevie Wonder, who was doing something worlds apart from Donny Hathaway, yet it was all celebrated; all successful."

A New Orleans' native, Morton's feel good, 'soulful pop' music lyrically tells stories about life and love, and he creates songs that will make your heart think.  After working with noteworthy artists such as, India Arie, gospel superstar Fred Hammond, hip-hop producer Jermaine Dupri, and co-writing songs with platinum artists Jagged Edge, Monica, Heather Headley and LL Cool J; Morton's big break came when Maroon 5 asked him to audition for a keyboardist/vocalist spot in the band, which ultimately landed him the gig.

After obtaining the support of Maroon 5 to pursue a solo career, Morton also garnered the support of Young Money's President, Mack Maine. Maine played several tracks for labelmates Baby and Slim, and Young Money's captain Lil Wayne who all recognized his talent immediately.
