New album from acclaimed roots duo out March 27th on True North Records

Madison Violet have announced plans for a U.S. tour this spring in support for their forthcoming record, The Good in Goodbye, out March 27th on True North Records. Known for their incredible live sets that pair Americana-inspired roots music with disarmingly lovely pop music, the acclaimed duo have most recently been touring through Europe and Australia. The U.S. tour kicks-off on April 9th at Hotel Café in Los Angeles.

Since releasing their last album, No Fool for Trying (2009), Madison Violet took home the 2009 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year, a 2010 JUNO Award nomination for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year (Group), and won the 2009 John Lennon Songwriting Contest for their track "The Ransom."  As a follow-up to their breakthrough successes, The Good in Goodbye captures the duo's growth and musical maturity. Already nominated for a 2012 ECMA for Folk Recording of the Year in Canada, Their distinct take on iconic Americana-inspired up-tempo melodies beautifully contrasts with their breathtakingly sweeping and personal lyrics, creating songs that blend nods to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch with radio-friendly flecks of The Band Perry.
