Matthew Morrison Signs to Adam Levine’s Label 222 Records



Morrison’s Sophomore Record to be Released this Spring




LOS ANGELES, CA, FEBRUARY 9, 2012-- Maroon 5 frontman and Voice coach Adam Levine announced today that Matthew Morrison has signed to Levine’s 222 Records.  The label will release the sophomore album of Tony, Emmy and 2-time Golden Globe nominee Matthew Morrison, best known for his role as Will Schuester on Glee. The album is set to debut this spring. Additional signings to label will be announced shortly.

In addition to his sophomore album, Morrison will next appear on the big screen starring opposite Cameron Diaz in Lionsgate's highly anticipated film, What to Expect when Expecting, which will be released on May 18, 2012. In addition to the film, Morrison will be starring alongside George Clooney and Jesse Tyler Ferguson in Dustin Lance Black’s play reading of 8 in Los Angeles on March 3rd.  Morrison also directed his first episode of GLEE in December with their Christmas episode. Morrison studied musical theater, vocal performance and dance at New York University’s renowned Tisch School of the Arts.  His big Broadway break came when he was cast as heartthrob Link Larkin in the hit “Hairspray.” Morrison was later nominated for a Tony Award for his role in “The Light in the Piazza,” and received a Drama Desk Nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for “10 Million Miles.” He also starred in the Tony Winning revival of “South Pacific” at Lincoln Center Theater in New York.
