Spree will release his second mixtape <i>The Spark </i>for free download in early March, featuring production from trio Organized Noise (Outkast). It is Spree's first new collection of songs since the release of his much-buzzed-about 2011 debut mixtape
<i>The Never Ending Now </i>(presented by Converse). That project garnered him critical praise for pushing boundaries with his undeniable ability to layer his thoughtful songwriting and hip-hop roots with his rock'n'roll inspirations, eclectic influences and
top-notch musicianship. <b><i>Vibe </i></b>has called him <i>“a janglier Andre 3000”</i> and
<b><i>Complex</i></b> has said that Spree’s debut <i>“encompasses serious range.”
<b>Okayplayer</b></i> described the project as being akin to the <i>“spirited genre-bending of acts like Outkast, Cee-Lo and Kanye West.”<o:p></o:p></i></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Always somewhat of a misfit growing up, Spree has a placid manner, yet he can often be found at the center of a crowd. There is a disarming presence about him – a quiet greatness.
</span><span style="color:black">Born in Nashville and musically re-born in Atlanta, Spree's childhood and high school years were spent cultivating his love for Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, choir music at church, Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest, Velvet Underground
and Jimi Hendrix. He fell in love with the guitar and started making beats on a Casio keyboard, a gift from the single mother who raised him. Then he heard what he has called "the landmark album of his life," Outkast's
<i>Aquemini</i>. After attending college at Clark Atlanta University in Georgia, <b>
Spree</b> was offered an internship and eventually a deal by heavyweight producer
<b>Dallas Austin</b> after he stumbled across Spree's impressive guitar playing in an Atlanta store. After being mentored by Dallas, Spree began to feel like he was ready for a change and bought a one-way ticket to New York City on a leap of faith. After sleeping
in the subway and Penn Station for weeks he received a phone call that changed his life. His demos had fallen into the hands of
<b>Q-Tip</b>, who was ready and willing to help Spree get his foot in the door of the NYC music industry. In 2010 he was signed to Sony.</span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
