Premieres New Single “Her Favorite Song” TODAY on Pitchfork

New York, NY – May 15th, 2013 – Mayer Hawthorne released the first single from his long-awaited third LP Where Does This Door Go, which is out on July 16th via Republic Records. The track, “Her Favorite Song” produced by Oak (of Oak & Pop) and Mayer Hawthorne premiered today on Pitchfork.com and includes additional vocals from British singer and songwriter Jessie Ware. Mayer will also be performing on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on release date, July 16th.

Where Does This Door Go features a host of top-flight production work from Pharrell Williams, Greg Wells, Jack Splash, and Oak. Kendrick Lamar is also featured on the album.  Recorded in LA, Miami and New York, some describe the vibe of the album as “Steely Dan meets the Beastie Boys,” which suggests both a studio seriousness and playful approach, always evident in Mayer's work.
