Hitting 27 universities nationwide throughout April and early May, the Verge Campus Tour will be headlined by the hottest MC of 2013, Kendrick Lamar, as well as the legendary Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Steve Aoki, with support from up and coming artists Bad Rabbits and 5 & A Dime. The full list of tour dates is below.
The Verge Campus Tour is not only a hub to expose students to emerging and eclectic cutting edge entertainment and fashion, but also a showcase of top-tier technology and the business behind it. During the day, Verge Campus Tour will promote education, entrepreneurship, technology, creativity, fashion and entertainment through its Brand Village, where students are given the opportunity to engage with representatives and test products from sponsors. The Brand Village will be interactive and feature fashion brands, live artists, presentations, new technology, and music. Each night, students will gather to witness performances by music's most-talked-about acts on the verge: Top Dawg Entertainment's platinum-selling hip hop lyricist Kendrick Lamar and Dim Mak Records Founder & Electro House artist Steve Aoki. The Verge Campus Tour will be supported by post-R&B, futuristic funk-punk musical force of Bad Rabbits as well as the unique blend of EDM and Top 40 sounds of producer and Hype Machine staple 5 & A Dime.
Karmaloop founder and CEO Greg Selkoe had this to say about the highly anticipated college blitz: "Karmaloop has always been about the cutting-edge and eclectic from clothing to music to technology and once again we have shown our unrivalled connection and influence within the culture we serve by bringing together two of the biggest performers in Hip-Hop and EDM respectively for this tour. Only Karmaloop could pull this off and we are thrilled to continue to lead the way and to be working with such amazing talent as Kendrick and Steve". He went on to add "Our collaboration with exciting young companies like eMuze (powering the tour) who are innovating in the entertainment space, and Neff Headwear (lead sponsor) who are a fashion pioneer in the streetwear world are two more examples Karmaloop's association with the most powerful cultural influencers."
The Verge Campus Tour will be produced by Articulate Entertainment in association with Karmaloop.com and eMuze. Additionally, each campus will get a dose of the premier active streetwear and lifestyle clothing brand Neff Headwear (one of Karmaloop' most popular brands) who's collaborative tour t-shirts will serve as the official merchandise for the tour.
