TV ON THE RADIO HEADLINE AFRO-PUNK FESTIVAL
TV On The Radio will headline the 8th annual Afropunk Festival. The festival takes place August 25-26 at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn, has been called the focal point of the burgeoning Afro-punk movement and a Brooklyn institution. TV On The Radio will perform on Saturday, August 25th. Other performers include Erykah Badu, Janelle and Alice Smith among many others.

The release of Paloma Faith's new album Fall To Grace (Epic Records) is getting closer...and you know what that means! Pow here comes the first single - Rebound this little shadow dancer titled "Picking Up The Pieces": http://bit.ly/PmVmFw.
Faith says the song as being about "...the issues of being in a relationship with someone who is still recovering from a previous relationship with another person. It is a song about self-doubt and insecurity."

Admit it - you know you've felt it. Digital Spy's Robert Copsey just says Faith "may not think she's able to obtain the prime ideal of perfection, but 'Picking Up The Pieces' skirts dangerously close and gives "Picking Up the Pieces" the full five stars. But where these songs truly come alive is on stage: Faith eats drama for breakfast. "Performing her latest material, Faith was faultless. As her smoky vocals bemoaned the sweet agonies of long-term love, the crowd were held in thrall," states The Telegraph.

DIE ANTWOORD'S NINJA: CRIME STOPPER
File this under another thing you won't believe me about Die Antwoord! But they really did stop crime their first time at Lollapalooza! As told to the WSJ:
Yolandi: We just flew in from South Africa and it was a 19-hour flight, we got here yesterday. This morning we woke up all fresh, and then we were driving to the venue just now, and then we stopped the car and it was really exciting. This guy was running really fast-
Ninja: Across the road.
Yolandi: It looks like he did something wrong-
Ninja: He was running too fast.
Yolandi: And we saw a girl on the side so we stopped the van, we asked her, are you okay? And she said, he stole my money.
Ninja: We jumped a few lines.
Yolandi: We chased him in the van and we pulled over, then Ninja jumped out and our friend Leo, and they held the guy, they caught him and they held him down.
Ninja: We had like a UFC altercation on the pavement.
Yolandi: They got her money back. And they gave it back to her.
Ninja: We took the bag away from him and then the girl reached us and then she went through and she found her wallet and there was no money in it. She looked in the bag and the money and credit cards were in the bag. She took it out and we said did you want to call the police?
Yolandi: She didn't want to.
Ninja: I've never done that before. It was kind of weird. My slipper came off so I just hit him in the ear and I said, don't do that again!
KAREN O WRITES NEW SONG FOR TIM BURTON FILM
Karen O announced that she will contribute a brand new song to Tim Burton's 3D remake of his 1984 film Frankenweenie. The song, "Strange Love," will be out  September 25th, and Karen O tells Rolling Stone: "I was thinking, 'Oh yeah, this man shaped my artistic sensibility over the past 20 years alongside thousands of other impressionable offbeat youths.' Tim wanted an unconventional unconditional love song.
"My music inspiration came out of the same era of B-movie fright film references sprinkled throughout the film," says KO. "I went in the direction of exotica and calypso stylistically because it's quirky, good vibes music of that era, and when you throw in a Theremin solo, it's a marriage made in heaven. I remember Beetlejuice introducing me to the genius of Harry Belafonte's calypso record, so I wanted to give a nod to that, too."
Frankenweenie Unleashed will premiere in theaters on October 5th.
