DRUMMING ENSEMBLE ON FRIDAY, MAY 25th, 2007 =20

New York, NY (May 24, 2007) -- Stephen and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley will
headline Haiti's first international music Festival, Festival Mizik
Jakmel in Jacmel, Haiti on May 25-27th 2007. The multiple Grammy-winning
Reggae artists will be joined by 24 bands and musicians from around the
globe adding Tabou Combo, Luck Mervil, and MC Red1 to the existing
roster which includes Les Nubians, Emeline Michel, the Reggae Cowboys.
During the Festival, event organizers will spearhead an attempt to break
the Guinness World Record(tm) on Friday, May 25th for the largest
drumming ensemble with an estimated 10,000 participants. The last record
was set in 2006 in India with 7,951 people continuously drumming for
five minutes.=20

Sponsors for the three day Festival include VIBE, Ministry of Culture,
Ministry of Tourism, Digicel, TEAM FORCE Audio, Embassy of France,
American Airlines, and Radio One. A check presentation will take place
with portions of the festival proceeds going to support local nonprofit
organizations - FOSAJ, Ecole de Musique Dessaix Baptiste (Jacmel Music
School), as well as KROMA a ghetto youth foundation for street children
and PAZAPA a centre for the handicapped.=20

Festival Mizik Jakmel is the brainchild of three Jacmel locals Patrick
Boucard and Kate Tarratt Cross, co-founders of FOSAJ (Foundation Sant
D'A Jakmel) and Jeremie Sterlin. FOSAJ is dedicated to empowering the
Haitian people through art and culture and not only works in conjunction
with the European Union to support the 150 artisans of ADASE, but
maintains outreach projects addressing issues including street children,
literacy and the environment. Jeremie Sterlin, the third member of the
team, is owner and operator of XUKPI Producciones, an event production
company based in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.=20
