K. Flay is known through her mix tapes but is putting out bona-fide album early 2012! She creates her own beats (sometimes she builds them right on stage) sings, plays guitar/piano/synth, raps (no duh) and is has quick acerbic wit that may or may not have helped get her into Stanford.  She produces her own stuff, though she worked with fan Liam Howlett from The Prodigy this album - go figure. She is also a methodical remixer - like she arranged the official remix of the Beastie Boys' "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" (featuring Santigold).
