</b>wanted Felix to have a male harmony part, and I had a very specific kind of voice in mind,” explains Nina. “My co-producer asked me, ‘If you could have anyone you wanted to sing that part, who would it be?’ My first response was Joey Ryan of The Milk Carton
Kids. Will told me that he actually knew Joey, and would call and ask him. Joey agreed, and it was great singing with him. His voice has a special distinctive quality to it. Kenneth Pattengale, the other member of The Milk Carton Kids, plays lead guitar
on the same song. He brought such an exquisite mood to the song with his part. They're cool guys. It was a great experience collaborating with them.”</span><span style="color:#1F497D"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Georgia","serif";color:black">By the age of nine Ferraro was completely devoted to making music, and performing at local cafes at the age of 12. She was inspired by such records as:
PJ Harvey’s <i>Dry</i>, Slint’s <i>Spiderland</i>, Elliott Smith’s <i>Roman Candle</i>, The Pixies’
<i>Surfer Rosa</i>, Bright Eyes’ <i>Lifted</i>, Jim O’Rourke’s <i>Eureka</i>, Björk’s
<i>Medúlla</i>, and Daniel Johnston’s <i>Hi, How Are You</i>.<b><i> </i></b>Fast forward to now and Bonzie has manifested into a songwriter that isn’t traditional or confessional, but more of an observer and commentator. She is drawn to expressing her lyrics
with the concerns of her generational cohort (the bond between independence and interdependence, not wanting to be manipulated, and view one’s self beyond society) with unwavering honesty through her dark indie-rock sound that also incorporates some psychedelic
