<b>Janina Gavankar</b>, will release her debut single, <b>“Waiting for Godot,”</b> on all digital retail platforms
<b>August 28, 2012.</b> Previously dubbed an “audio schizo” by <i>The New York Post</i>, Gavankar musically crosses from a dub drop to an A Capella choir on
<b>“Waiting for Godot”—</b>the end result of a collaborative creation with Apparat and producer Cory Enemy (Peaches, Ellie Goulding). “Sometimes the starting point is a question, sometimes it's an instrument, sometimes it's a person I've been dying to collaborate
with,” Gavankar says about the song’s conception. “I've never had one way of approaching things. But the process is always experimental.”

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Lyrically, Gavankar references the famous play, of the same title, by Samuel Beckett, on
<b>“Waiting for Godot,”</b> over a haunting, ambient foundation, that later progresses into dub-step, then into a choir—yes, a choir, of 25 moving parts. The mix of experimental, quirky, electro-pop, on her debut single is just a taste of what to expect on
her not-yet-titled, upcoming EP, which drops later this year via <b>Randy Jackson’s</b>
<b>Friendship Collective</b> label. “One day Randy Jackson called,” Gavankar explains of their musical union. “He said ‘</span><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">You're weird! I like it! I think you're going to
make great music!’</span><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""> </span>
<span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Now I'm releasing those works on his label.”</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">The never-musically-monogamous, classically-trained, experimental songstress has crafted highly-collaborative music on her debut EP, fusing IDM and classical
elements together. Gavankar has recently enlisted electronic musician, <b>Trifonic</b> (BT, Hecq, Hybrid), to help her create her EP, with more to come! “I don't give a s*** about who's 'cool',” says Gavankar. “I'm only interested in working with people
I already know and love, or people I've been salivating over for years.”<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<i>The L Word</i>, “Leigh” from <i>ABC’s The Gates</i>, “Shiva” on <i>The League</i>, and currently as shape-shifter, “Luna Garza,” on
