New York, NY, April 13, 2015 - NYC's very own dazzling, captivating musical troupe, The Citizens Band, have announced a one night engagement at Irving Plaza in New York City on May 14th.   While gearing up for the 2016 election cycle, their new show, Political Theater, will inspire political engagement and getting our souls to the polls.  Produced by Linda Carbone<http://www.presshere.com/> and creatively conceived by Sarah Sophie Flicker, the show is a meditation on social justice - touching on issues of reproductive rights, police brutality, gender and race inequalities, immigration and return again to the simple truth; that we are all in this together. Spurred into creative action by our apathetic, and often unjust,  political climate, The Citizens Band burst onto the New York City's nightlife scene with their debut production, Je T'Aime, Scumbag, a ribald and dazzling tale of love, loss, and political corruption which was staged in a Brooklyn warehouse.  With the likes of Karen Elson, Ian Buchanan, Rain Phoenix, Angela McCluskey and Zoe Kravtiz, along with guest starts: actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, singer and actress Zooey Deschanel, pop icon Cyndi Lauper, rock luminary Melissa Auf Der Maur, Alia Shawkat and Julia Stiles, The Citizens Band have shown that political anxiety can be channeled into glamorous and entertaining art.  Their eclectic lineup includes a soap opera actor, a Queens' public school teacher, a supermodel, a Swedish pop star, activists of all stripes and a Hollywood ingénue; all combined with a stellar musicianship to create energetic performances that define the troupe.

The Citizens Band includes performers such as Karen Elson, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Rain Phoenix, Ian Buchanan, Rachelle Garniez, Michael Cavadias, Adam Crystal, Mark McAdam, Paul Cantelon, Dave Lebleu, Turner Cody, Angela McCluskey, Amy Miles, Jon Natchez, Ronin, and Leah Siegel and many guest stars.
