Sporting a no “BS” attitude and independent spirit – Conway is a fierce new woman in music who has something to say. The singer/songwriter comes from the Southside of St. Louis and fostered a passion for music as a kid – using her talent and thirst for learning the craft as a tool to escape and deal with the outside world. Kassia Conway, aka Conway, is a self-taught vocalist and bass guitarist who honed her craft by exploring multiple genres and influences in the world of New Wave, Punk, R&B, and Hip-Hop. After leaving St. Louis, Conway first moved to Brooklyn and then to Los Angeles, forming punk rock bands in the respective cities. Her past projects, including Stella’s Ball, have been compared to the likes of Pavement and The Breeders, while Conway herself has drawn comparisons to Karen O and other incandescent front women.

“Big Talk” explores Conway’s past encounters, false promises and ultimately what developed into her solo career. The song demands honesty in a corrupt world, and suggests her strong position against believing in manipulative rhetoric and institutions. With a determination to turn her ideas into a reality, Conway took the production of her debut video into her own hands. After figuring out how to record and edit videos, she mounted her laptop to a music stand in her shower, and took to the streets of Los Angeles to get interactive and create her first music video as a solo artist that represents her multi-faceted essence.

Stay tuned for Conway’s debut EP – out in May 2013. She will also premiere her second track of the collection in March 2013.
