New Album 'The Waking Sleep' Set for Release September 20th

[Red dress LR]Katie Herzig has announced her nearly 30 city national tour, kicking off August 24th in Seattle, Washington. Herzig will headline venues with her band in addition to playing with Nashville's Ten Out of Tenn tour.
Katie's tour will coincide with the release of her most sophisticated work to date, The Waking Sleep, on September 20th through Downtown/Mercer Street Records. The Waking Sleep delivers a profound and moving landscape of sound that highlight's Herzig's undeniable talent. The collection quickly illustrates Herzig as a hands-on artist who builds her songs in the same way she might mold a sculpture. Some of the stand-out tracks on the album include magnetic 'Make a Noise,' exhilarating 'Way to the Future' and heart-rending 'Closest I Get.' Herzig's 'Way To the Future' will also be released in stores and online on the Grey's Anatomy Original Soundtrack Volume 4 out September 13th.

After several years of fronting Colorado-based band Newcomers Home, Katie decided to strike it solo and move to Nashville where she quickly became a fixture in the independent music scene. Since then Katie released several iTunes singles and two studio albums, Weightless and Apple Tree, containing songs that have been featured on NPR, KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, Target, Honda and Samsung commercials, Going The Distance and Sex and The City soundtracks along with many television shows including 7 songs on Grey's Anatomy. She's participated in Nashville's Ten Out of Tenn tour, Hotel Café Tour and has spent the greater part of the last few years touring with her band around the US supporting artists like Brandi Carlile and The Fray and several others. Katie was featured in Billboard Magazine's "Now Hear This" as well as one of PASTE Magazine's 25 "Best of What's Next" artists.
